Summary

Reliability-focused Site Reliability Engineer with 7+ years of experience engineering resilient distributed architectures, automating incident mitigation, and governing large-scale Kubernetes clusters across multi-cloud infrastructure. Deep expertise in telemetry observability, chaos engineering, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and SLO/SLI/error-budget frameworks. Proven track record of sustaining 99.995% service availability, slashing Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR) by 54%, and reducing operational toil by 45% through custom Go and Python automation.

Work experience

Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Apr 2022 - Present

CloudStream Distributed Systems

• Seattle, WA

Govern production reliability, latency budgets, and availability across 50+ microservices on multi-region AWS EKS clusters, serving 25M+ active users.
Partnered with product and platform teams to institute Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Error Budgets, reducing sev-1 production incidents by 48% within 9 months.
Spearheaded automated self-healing remediation routines using Go and Kubernetes Operators, automatically reconciling degraded pods and dropped network nodes with zero human intervention.
Engineered distributed tracing and metrics aggregation using OpenTelemetry and Datadog, decreasing Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) from 18 minutes to 90 seconds and MTTR by 54%.
Led regular chaos engineering drills using Chaos Mesh (pod failures, latency injection, network partitions), discovering and resolving 35+ critical resilience bottlenecks prior to peak retail traffic.
Slashed operational toil by 45% through the development of CLI tooling and automated runbooks for routine node drain, canary failovers, and secret rotations.
Chaired blameless post-mortem reviews and tracked root-cause remediation action items, driving a 60% drop in repeat outage patterns.

Projects

Multi-Region Kubernetes Active-Passive Automated Failover

Jan 2023 - Dec 2023

Site Reliability Engineer

Built an automated disaster failover engine orchestrating Amazon Route53 DNS traffic shifting and ExternalDNS synchronization.
Successfully validated full cluster workload failover under 12 minutes with zero data loss during scheduled production stress testing.
