Summary

Results-driven QA Automation Engineer with 6+ years of experience designing, architecting, and maintaining robust test automation frameworks for enterprise web, mobile, and API systems. Expert in TypeScript, Python, Playwright, Cypress, and Selenium, with deep integration expertise in CI/CD pipelines and distributed cloud grids. Track record of scaling automated test coverage from 45% to 92%, cutting manual regression execution time from 3 days to under 45 minutes, and preventing production escapes across high-concurrency SaaS applications.

Work experience

Senior QA Automation Engineer

Mar 2022 - Present

CloudScale Systems

Location: Austin, TX

Architected a unified end-to-end testing framework from scratch using TypeScript and Playwright, supporting multi-browser (Chromium, Firefox, WebKit) and mobile viewport regression suites. Spearheaded parallel test execution across Dockerized containers in GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines, slashing regression test cycle duration by 78% (from 3.5 hours to 28 minutes). Expanded end-to-end automated test coverage across primary checkout and user onboarding workflows from 48% to 91%, dropping release-blocking defect escapes by 45%. Developed automated backend API regression test suites with Python and PyTest, validating 200+ REST and GraphQL endpoints against contract schemas and response SLAs. Engineered distributed load and stress testing pipelines using k6, benchmarking system behavior up to 25,000 concurrent users to validate microservices autoscaling rules. Partnered with product and engineering teams in three-amigos grooming sessions to define clear Acceptance Criteria and BDD Gherkin scenarios prior to feature implementation.

QA Automation Engineer

Jul 2019 - Feb 2022

Apex Interactive Technologies

Location: Dallas, TX

Built and maintained a maintainable Page Object Model (POM) automation framework using Cypress and JavaScript for an enterprise SaaS platform. Automated 350+ manual test cases across cross-functional sprints, freeing up an estimated 30 manual QA testing hours per sprint cycle. Implemented contract and integration tests for microservices using RestAssured and Postman Newman collections integrated directly into GitLab CI pipelines. Configured automated cross-browser matrix runs via BrowserStack, identifying and remediating 40+ critical browser-rendering inconsistencies prior to general availability. Integrated Allure reporting dashboards with Slack notifications, delivering instant test run summaries, artifact screenshots, and video traces to engineering squads. Tracked defects and release sign-offs in Jira and TestRail, ensuring strict traceability between product requirements, test cases, and discovered bugs.

Projects

Zero-Flake Test Stabilization Engine

Jan 2023 - Dec 2023

Refactored a legacy Selenium test suite exhibiting a 22% intermittent failure rate by introducing network-idle wait strategies, dynamic locators, and automated retry mechanisms. Reduced test suite flakiness to under 0.5%, restoring engineering confidence in CI/CD release gate evaluations.

Mobile App Automation Pipeline (iOS & Android)

Jan 2023 - Dec 2023

Developed an automated hybrid mobile test suite using Appium and WebdriverIO for iOS and Android native builds. Automated device authentication, deep linking validations, and biometrics edge cases, executing tests seamlessly on local simulators and AWS Device Farm.
