Summary

Results-driven Network Engineer with 7+ years of experience designing, deploying, and managing enterprise LAN/WAN, data center architectures, and hybrid cloud network infrastructure. Expert in dynamic routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), SD-WAN migrations, network automation (Python, Ansible), and high-availability firewalls. Proven track record of sustaining 99.999% network uptime across multi-site global locations, decreasing failover latency from 45 seconds to sub-second convergence, and slashing operational trouble-ticket volume by 38% through proactive telemetry and automated configuration auditing.

Work experience

Senior Network Engineer

May 2022 - Present

Summit Global Telecom

Location: Denver, CO

Lead architecture, optimization, and Tier 3 engineering for a multi-region enterprise network supporting 35 regional branch offices and 2 core data centers. Spearheaded an enterprise-wide SD-WAN migration using Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN (Viptela) across 35 sites, lowering carrier circuit operational costs by $210,000 annually. Engineered a high-speed data center leaf-spine fabric using Arista switches with VXLAN-EVPN encapsulation, doubling backbone bandwidth capacity and eliminating East-West bottlenecks. Automated device configuration backups, baseline compliance drift checks, and bulk IOS-XE upgrades across 450+ network devices using Python and Ansible, cutting manual maintenance hours by 65%. Redesigned corporate BGP peering and multi-homed ISP failover policies, deploying bidirectional forwarding detection (BFD) to achieve sub-second convergence during carrier outages. Partnered with the Cloud Infrastructure team to establish dual AWS Direct Connect circuits (10 Gbps) and transit gateway peering with automated IPsec backup tunnels, ensuring 99.999% hybrid cloud availability.

Projects

Data Center Modernization & Disaster Recovery

Jan 2022 - Present

Role: Architect

Architected an active-active secondary disaster recovery (DR) data center facility utilizing Cisco Nexus 9000 series switches and OTV/DCI link extensions. Successfully validated zero-loss automated failover drills during scheduled maintenance windows, achieving an RTO under 15 minutes.
